About Me

Educator. Leader. Researcher. Lifelong Learner.

For more than 25 years, education has been more than my profession. It has been the work that continually challenges me to learn, grow, and think differently about what schools, educators, and students can do.

A Career Built in Real Schools

I’m Dr. Rebekah Kogelschatz, an educator, school leader, researcher, and consultant whose career has taken me from the classroom to school leadership.

I began my career working directly with students and have served in exceptional student education, mathematics, gifted education, curriculum and instruction, and administration across both public and private education. Those experiences have given me the opportunity to see schools from many perspectives. This taught me that meaningful improvement rarely comes from a one-size-fits-all solution.

Today, as a Head of School, I work across nearly every part of school life: academics, school culture, strategic planning, finance, enrollment, accreditation, staff development, and innovation. I understand the realities leaders face because I continue to live them every day.

That perspective shapes my consulting and professional learning. I’m interested in thoughtful, research-informed ideas, but I’m especially interested in whether they can work with real teachers, real students, real budgets, and real school communities.

I believe strong schools are built by people willing to

ask better questions.

Education doesn't need to change for change's sake. It needs leaders who can recognize what works, honestly examine what doesn't, learn from research and one another, and have the courage to try a different approach when it makes sense.

My goal is to help educators move from “This is how we’ve always done it” to “What could this look like?”

Research

Research That Connects to Practice

My doctoral research examined voucher reliance and tuition determination in private K–12 schools in Florida, combining two areas that continue to interest me: organizational leadership and school financial sustainability.

Research has strengthened the way I approach leadership. I value evidence, data, and careful analysis, but I also believe research is most valuable when educators can translate it into better decisions and stronger schools. My goal is to make research useful by turning evidence and data into practical insights that help school leaders make thoughtful, sustainable decisions.

Beyond the Office

Beyond my professional work, I’m a wife and mom of three who values time with family, new experiences, and opportunities to keep learning. I love to travel: not only to see new places, but to experience different cultures and gain a broader perspective on how people live, learn, and approach education.

That curiosity has shaped both my personal and professional life and inspired my interest in educational study tours and global professional learning. When I have some downtime, you’ll often find me near the beach, planning my next trip, spending time with family—or at home with our two doodles.
